Hamilton Is Coming
⚡ QUICK SUMMARY
Hamilton hits Disney+ on July 3. Mark's family watches it on the living room projector and surround sound with one button on the universal remote. If you already have a big screen and good sound, you may only need a Disney+ subscription. If not, this is a great excuse to upgrade, and we can help.
Are You Ready For One Of The Biggest Streaming Video Releases Ever?

It is going to be perfect for our ‘Saturday Night Culture” series at home. Culture is probably a strong word. We have tried to make Saturday night a special family video night to watch something together on the projector in our living room. We have mainly watched the many charity concerts - The One World concert with Lady Gaga, Verizon’s #PayItForward series, the UNICEF Won’t Stop event - and purchased the live recording of the final performance of RENT on Broadway, which was great for our kids to see and made my wife and I remember how much we loved that show. Now we can add Hamilton to that list in less than 6 weeks.
Getting Ready
I’ve started listening to the soundtrack already to get myself familiar with the music and words - I’ve heard it can be tough to follow if you aren’t familiar with it before hand. My 11 year old daughter has been listening to it for over a year so I’m sure she knows it by heart already.

One Button and We Are Good to Go
Fortunately I’ve got everything ready to go - we already have 2 Rokus and an AppleTV connected to our video matrix and therefore ready to play on the projection and surround sound system. All I’ll have to do is punch up Disney+ on the universal remote, like I do for any other movie and we are good to go, with amazing picture and immersive sound. For some of the other events that are not as easy to access (like live Facebook streams, I’ve run an extra HDMI cable, power cord and network cable from the AV rack for my laptop. Now all I have to do when I need to access a website for the content is plug in my laptop and select “computer” on the universal remote and it is like watching anything else, except I have to go to the laptop to select and control the video.
💡 Mark's Setup Trick
An extra HDMI, power cord and network cable run from the AV rack means a laptop can play any website on the big screen, just by picking “computer” on the remote.
What You Need at Home
You may not need much other than a Disney+ subscription in your home to enjoy Hamilton. You may already have a great surround sound system and a big TV or projection screen. If you need help with anything, we are here for you - either for installing new hardware or just talking you through how to get Disney+ on your TV. You are going to want to feel like you are at the show, center orchestra. This is a great opportunity to upgrade your viewing environment so you can get the full experience. It made all the difference for watching RENT and I can’t wait to see and hear the full Hamilton experience.
